🗣After the global surge of interest sparked by Netflix’s The Last Dance series, a new wave of sneaker enthusiasts has emerged, bringing with it an insatiable demand for the classic red, white, and black colourway. Recognising this, the team at Nike has ensured that the shoe is available in a full range of sizes, from men's to women's and juniors, making it accessible to all.

Picture yourself rummaging through the basement of a small, independent store in the US, and stumbling upon a weathered shoe box with a mismatched lid. This is the inspiration behind the design, as the team at Jordan Brand meticulously studied original 1985 pairs, paying close attention to how the shoes had naturally aged over the years. The craftsmanship reflects this vintage charm, with cracked leather on the ankle collar, yellowing midsoles, and an oxidised sole, all nodding to the passage of time. In addition, the design pays homage to the original releases by incorporating a thicker Swoosh and a higher cut, similar to the version seen in last year’s Neutral Grey release.

To complete the retro experience, the usual wrapping paper has been swapped for what looks like old newspaper, printed with vintage Jordan advertisements. Adding the final touch, the shoe also includes an old-school hand-signed receipt card, a detail that harkens back to a time long before contactless payments, solidifying this as a true tribute to the original release. This thoughtful attention to detail makes the shoe not only a piece of footwear but a piece of history in its own right.
